Privacy Policy

1. Data We Collect

   – Surname
   – Email address
   – Password (hashed)
   – Profile photo
   – Trip details (origin, destination, price)

   – Messages exchanged with other users

   1.2 Automatically Collected Data
   – Device and OS information
    Basic analytics (when implemented)
   – IP address
   – In-app behavior
   – Payment confirmations (via Stripe)
   – Last 4 digits of cards

   We do not store full card numbers.

   1.3 No GPS Tracking (Currently)
   Truvo does not collect live GPS location at this stage.
   Trip locations are user-entered (city-to-city).

2. Why We Use Your Data

We process your data to:
– create and manage your account
– allow Drivers and Riders to find each other
– enable messaging
– process payments via Stripe
– improve security and prevent abuse
– comply with law enforcement requests
– prepare future identity verification features (e.g., driver’s license verification)
 

3. Legal Bases (GDPR)

We process data based on:
– Contract performance (account use, bookings)
– Legitimate interests (safety, fraud prevention)
– Consent (analytics, optional features)

– Legal obligations (requests from authorities)

4. Data Sharing

We share data only with:
– Stripe, for payment processing
– Service providers, such as hosting partners
– Law enforcement, if legally required
We do not sell or rent your data.
 

5. Messages & Safety

Messages are not end-to-end encrypted so we can:
– detect misuse
– respond to safety concerns
– cooperate with law enforcement
We monitor only when required for safety or legal reasons.
 

6. Data Security

We use:
– HTTPS encryption
– secured servers
– hashed passwords
– restricted staff access

No system is 100% secure; users must choose strong passwords.

7. Data Retention

We store your personal data while your account is active.
When you delete your account:
– Your account access is permanently removed
– Your profile becomes anonymized
For legal, safety, and fraud-prevention purposes, we may retain certain personal data for up to 12 months after account deletion in a restricted, non-user-accessible system.
This retained data is:
– Not accessible to other users
– Not used to restore your account
– Accessed only by authorized personnel or when legally required
After the retention period expires, the data is permanently deleted.
 

8. Your Rights (GDPR)

You may:
– access your data
– update incorrect data
– request deletion
– restrict processing
– request a portable copy
– understand that deletion requests may be subject to lawful data retention obligations
 

9. Children

The Platform is not intended for those under 16.
We delete accounts/data of minors who sign up.
 
10. Changes to This Policy
 
We may update this Policy at any time.
We will notify users through email or in-app notifications.
